Q&A - Responses by Franklin PUD

For the Speaker's Symposium

Q: Do we need to provide our own equipment for presentations?

A: Al Downs (CBC) wrote, "All classrooms have LCD units and screens installed. Rooms have a plug in for lap top connection." Presentations begin at 4:30 PM.

For the Booths

Q: What is the $75 Booth size?

A: 10'X10'.

Q: What furnishings are provided?

A: One Table and 2 chairs. No skirts. It has always been outside when at CBC. Plan B will be inside and their may be some wall space.

Q: Are there any other display/promo options?

A: Not conceived of yet.

Q: What are the show times? Setup/teardown times?

A: Up by opening and up while event is open to public. By 0 9:30 AM Friady and 10 AM Saturday. Take down after 4:00 PM

Q: Is this indoor or outdoor or is there an option?

A: No one would want to be the sole person inside completely off by themselves so it has not been practical to have this optional. If it rained, then there would have to be enough room for everyone to be inside. We need to consider this as the event grows.

Q: Is the booth subject matter limited to energy?
A: It needs to be energy related but banks can give energy efficient loans. Mutual funds can have "green" products.

One financial institution has already signed up. Builders are eligible is they build beyond code to energy efficiency standards or have energy efficient devices.

Recycling organizations are eligible since recycling can save energy. We don't allow vendors that are not telling the whole story about their alternative energy device, product or concept. They need to have credible science and engineering endorsements or credentials acceptable to Franklin PUD Energy Services Department.

Q: What was last years' attendance? What attendance is expected this  year?

A: We do not have a count. It has been estimated that we had about 1,500
attendees for the two days last year. I'll try to get a better estimate.

Q: What is the attendee demographics? Age groups? Interests?  Geography?

A: Mostly local area attendees. No demographics taken. Ages are from toddlers to retirees. Mostly people interested in energy issues or students of energy issues.

Q: Will printed flyers be available prior to the event for the sponsors to use/give to their customers?

A: Yes, but we haven't decided quantity yet.
